Ogof Fawr

Cave details

1.1 km
Vertical range:
76 m
South Wales

An unstable cave, liable to severe flooding, and dramatic changes in available routes caused by flood debris and collapse. Most of the length lies in a main passage, with about a third of the total length being side passages. The length and depth are now given accurately as the survey is complete, but further progress is expected in the near future, as the cave is still a very active dig.

This should not be confused with Chartists Cave, a 400 metre complex formed just under the caprock near Crescent Cave, which is also known as Ogof Fawr in Welsh.
